Our Mission

Tian is a collaborative effort involving cancer patients, caregivers, academics, specialists in physical therapy, oncologists, and health advisors. This ensures that all of its tools are relevant and meaningful in addressing the mental burden of a cancer diagnosis.

Our mission is to create a community where the cancer journey can be shared, providing a little certainty to an uncertain journey.

Meet The Team

We're a small team of health practitioners, engineers and entrepreneurs who are passionate about making the world better place

Makenzie George – Founder & CEO

An ex-Investment Banker, Makenzie created Tian in 2023 after spending five years watching her mom’s journey with pancreatic cancer. Making it to year five of pancreatic cancer meant her mom was patient zero in many cases and often left her family scouring deep corners of the Internet in order to find answers on all of the possible treatment options.

Becoming obsessed with helping those along the cancer journey, Makenzie decided to become a 200-hour certified yoga instructor with a certificate through Memorial Sloan Kettering to teach yoga to cancer patients and began teaching patients and caregivers through Red Door Community (formally Gilda’s Club).

Drawing from her own experiences, Makenzie’s mission is to help others affected by cancer to have access to resources, support and community – because everyone deserves an equitable chance in this fight.
